Charterpedia

The Charterpedia is an online tool that allows users to access information about fundamental rights in the European Union (EU) and its Member States. It is structured around the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU, making navigation through the information easy and user-friendly. Charterpedia is a compilation of international, European Union and national constitutional law in the area of fundamental rights, linked to the topics, chapters and articles of the Charter. This compilation was created by the Civil Liberties Committee of the European Parliament (LIBE) and taken over by the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) in 2008.

CASE LAW

The tool, useful for justice practitioners, politicians and policymakers, provides a comprehensive compilation of leading case law on discrimination on grounds of racial and ethnic origin and on grounds of sexual orientation in the EU Member States. It contains “landmark court decisions”, but also decisions of Special Bodies or similar institutions. In the future, due to the extension of FRA’s thematic areas and as resources allow, a broader data of case law on Human Rights in the EU and its Member States will be built up.
